Halesowen Town 6 Shepshed Dynamo 0

League leaders Halesowen smashed shapeless Shepshed for six goals in their second dominant performance against the Leicestershire outfit within a week.

The writing was on the wall for the visitors when Lee Collins saw a 3rd minute header cleared off the line by Lee Quincey and Lee Ross was twice denied twice by blocking saves. Marvin Blake turned well for Shepshed and hit narrowly wide in the 23rd minute but from then on it was Halesowen who took complete control.

Busy goalkeeper Damion Quailey beat away a 25-yard shot from Andy Spencer and Matt Simpson cleared a header from Leroy May off his goal-line but Halesowen took a 39th minute lead with Jason Burnham cracking home another penalty after May had been brought down. Before half-time Andy Commander desperately cleared a May shot for a corner, Quailey saved at the foot of the post from Lee Collins and May hit the bar from 25 yards out.

The goals eventually flowed in the second period with Andy Spencer rounding goalkeeper Quailey before providing an easy tap home by May in the 55th minute. Quailey saved at the feet of Ross Collins but then recent signing Ross connected with a long ball to beat Quailey at the second attempt in the 69th minute.

The Yeltz continued to pour forward and were rewarded with three goals in the final three minutes against a shaky and shattered Shepshed defence. Substitute Gary Smith flicked on for fellow substitute Matty Hall to superbly run fully 70 yards from his own half before beating Quailey. Hall slotted Halesowen’s fifth from close range in the 88th minute and Gary Smith completed the rout by ruthlessly finishing another defence splitting ball from the left a minute from time.
