Shepshed Dynamo 2 Halesowen Town 2

Halesowen let a promising early lead slip and were eventually grateful for a point at lowly Shepshed.

Simon FORSDICK put the Yeltz ahead in the 16th minute with a debut goal against his former club by rolling the ball just inside the post through the mud after being put through by David Foy.

Although the game should have been over after the Yeltz missed a number of chances, Shepshed were then let back into the game due to slack defending. Wesley ARMSTRONG grabbed a 36th minute equaliser when goalkeeper Mark Sheils failed to claim with his defence appealing for an offside decision.

Shepshed then looked the livelier side and went ahead in the 74th minute when Duncan O’BRIEN capitalised on yet more defensive frailty by hitting home in the 6-yard box as the Yeltz failed to clear a free-kick.

Halesowen rescued a point in the 83rd minute when Asa Charlton surged from midfield and slipped the ball for Alfie CARTER to crash home his own debut goal into the net.

In a less than happy evening, previously booked and out-of form Richard Ball threw his shirt at the dugout when substituted by Craig Strachan and Foy was sent off in the 85th minute for an off the ball incident.

Halesowen Town: Sheils; Baker, Carter, Hollis, Jones, Charlton, Foy, Moore, Ball (Strachan), Steane, Forsdick. Other Subs: Skidmore, Smith, Grocutt.

Booked: Ball
