Halesowen Town 2 Banbury United 1

Halesowen snatched an unlikely victory with the last kick of the game courtesy of an own goal from Banbury full back Aaron Springfellow to keep their promotion hopes alive.

The result was really rough on managerless Banbury who appeared the better side throughout and looked set to record their first away win of the season when Nicky GORDON fired them in front after 21 minutes.

Banbury netted a second goal six minutes later when John Gardner turned home Ollie Stanbridge's shot - which was then ruled out for offside. Prior to that, Yeltz goalkeeper Nick Bussey kept Banbury at bay by spectacularly tipping a long range Springfellow shot over the crossbar. Bussey then beat out another goalbound Gordon effort before Lewis Travers ballooned the rebound way over.
Busy Bussey did even better after the break when he turned  a close range header from central defender Luke Bennett onto the crossbar after Halesowen had failed to clear from a Travers free kick. But Banbury were guilty of failing to finish Halesowen off, especially when Gardner sliced hopelessly wide with only Bussey to beat on 67 minutes.
Bussey then rescued his side again when diving full stretch to turn Gardner's strike round the post after the Banbury frontrunner had been sent clean through on goal. The Puritans were made to pay on 88 minutes when substitute James JOHNSON chased a Jay Denny pass and slotted home through the legs of goalkeeper Joe Murrell.

Halesowen couldn't believe their luck following three minutes of stoppage time when Aaron CORNWALL fired a last-ditch speculative shot which struck Springfellow's foot and ballooned over the stranded Murrell and into the net.
