Pre-season Friendly – Saturday, 23rd July 2011

Alvechurch 0 Halesowen Town 1

A Nathan Smith goal gave The Yeltz a 1-0 win at Lye Meadow as Shaun Cunnington's side continued their 100% pre-season campaign.

Shaun once again took the opportunity to check out most members of his squad and fielded a different XI in each half.

With Brendan Kelly and Justin Nisbett still unavailable through injury, the following line-ups were fielded:

First Half: Paul Evans, Alex Roofe, Nathaniel Caines, Peter Folkes, Mark Smith, Anthony Bruce, Sam Wills, Craig Connor, Nathan Jackson, Naveed Arshad, Nathan Smith.

Second Half: Steve Jackson, Scott Mason, Adam Robinson, Peter Folkes, Mark Smith, Keenan Meakin-Richards, Nathanaial Coward, Andrew Westwood, Rory Curtis, Jem Mills, Andre Hinds.

Halesowen failed to turn their 1st half superiority into chances and goals and were thankful for a good strike by Nathan Smith, a minute before the break, when he received a through ball from Naveed Arshad.

The all-changed second half side continued in the same vein and it was the home side who came close to an equaliser when they rattled the Yeltz crossbar.
