FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Saturday, 17th September 2016
Halesowen Town 1 Belper Town 0
Joe Colley grabbed a late winner to send Halesowen into the 3rd Qualifying Round with his first goal for the club just seconds after stepping off the substitutes' bench. But the narrow victory was somewhat harsh on lower league Belper who held their own for long spells in a game of few chances, writes David Johnson.

In early play, a 9th minute free-kick from James Hancocks broke free for Kaiman Anderson but his half volley was blocked and Kyle Morrison's subsequent header was easily taken by goalkeeper Danny Haystead. Haystead then did well to tip Malcolm Melvin's 25 yard shot over the bar three minutes later.
As the Nailers settled, Kyle Bryant played a neat ball for Jermaine Hollis to fire just over the bar on the turn in the 14th minute and Alex Steadman headed over two minutes later. Hollis then met a cross from Jonathan Williams with a glancing header but the ball flashed just wide.
Anderson found the Belper net after 41 minutes but the referee had already blown for a foul in a tussle with Gerome Palmer and just before the interval a free-kick from Hancocks sailed straight through to Haystead in the visiting goal.
Chances remained at a premium in the second half with the first real chance falling for Belper captain Eric Graves to shoot well wide on the turn from the edge of the area in the 62nd minute. Jonathan Williams also lofted a 30 yard free-kick over the bar and Ryan King flicked just over the Yeltz bar with the Nailers still looking comfortable.
But the home pressure gradually increased with Haystead eventually grabbing the ball in a scramble after a couple of 65th minute home corners.
With the game looking poised for a replay, manager John Hill replaced Aaron Griffiths with Joe Colley in the 79th minute and COLLEY made an immediate impact to break the deadlock just a minute later when his right-wing cross deceived Belper's defence to sail into the far corner of the net.
